Tiago holds a firm belief that the financial sector is pivotal in shaping thriving communities and economies. In his career spanning over two decades, he has played significant roles in a major Portuguese bank, leading initiatives within corporate, retail, and consumer finance divisions. His expertise covers a broad spectrum, including governance, strategy, marketing, planning, payments, credit risk, and capital management. His journey began in Oporto, Portugal’s second-largest city, internationally renowned for its Oporto wine. Twenty-five years ago, Tiago relocated to Lisbon, where he has continued to expand his professional and personal life.

In 2016, Tiago embraced the challenge of transforming a Factoring Company into a “Fintech for Health,” significantly enhancing its role as a financial partner for retail pharmacies across Portugal and positioning them as essential components of the nation’s wellness and sick care ecosystem.

Tiago’s recent venture involves co-founding a consultancy specializing in payments and credit, collaborating with banks, fintech firms, and various industries to integrate custom financial solutions into their customer value proposition.

Academically, Tiago earned his Economics degree from Faculdade de Economia do Porto and a Post-Graduate degree in Finance from ICADE, Universidad Pontificia Comillas de Madrid. His commitment to lifelong learning is demonstrated through executive programs completed at Cambridge University, INSEAD, and Harvard Business School.

Tiago values the intersection of culture and business, finding balance and enrichment in both his personal and professional life. Outside of work, he enjoys reading, playing basketball, and exploring intellectual pursuits such as philosophy and neuroscience. At home, Tiago is married and the father of three children. This personal realm of his life provides him with balance and enriches his professional insights, reflecting the synergy between his personal interests and professional endeavors.
