Spaces for sharing knowledge and experiences regarding the Flourishing Business Canvas and “flourishing” business models.
How can we rethink business models so that organizations contribute positively to people, society, environment and economy?
This reflection lies at the heart of the Flourishing Business Community — a world-wide association of people dedicated to developing and disseminating knowledge, tools, and methods that support innovation in business models that are socially beneficial, environmentally regenerative, and financially viable.
To expand opportunities for participation and exchange in different contexts — language, place/geoogrphy, issues, groups, economic sectors, etc. — leaders in the community are coming together to launch Special Interest Groups (“SIGs”).
Portuguese Leads the Way
The first SIG is being established by Flourishing Business Community members around the world who speak Portuguese! One might say this started when leading Portuguese speaking community members came together to translate the Flourishing Business Canvas into Portuguese in 2024! (Download from here) Thank-you: Ricardo Martins – Savannah College of Art and Design, Gonçalo Palrão – Vividearth, Marcia Carvalho de Azevedo – Universidade Federal de São Paulo, Mauricio Henriques Marques Luz – Universidade Caxias do Sul, Alexandre Ascal – Instituto de Disrupção e Desenvolvimento Humano and Francisco Gaspar – Nommos – Comunicação e Marketing LTDA.
Now “SIG-Português” aims to bring together individuals interested in the Flourishing Business Canvas and innovation in sustainable, “flourishing” business models, facilitating dialogue and collaboration in Portuguese.
Connecting Knowledge, Experiences, and People
The Portuguese language SIG will connect diverse countries, cultures, and realities – 10 countries world-wide have Portuguese as an official language.
This diversity offers a unique opportunity to bring together entrepreneurs, leaders of established organizations, management consultants, coaches, educators, students, researchers, policy makers, and other professionals who share an interest in transforming how businesses are conceived, structured, and developed.
Aligned with the mission of the Flourishing Business Community, this SIG seeks to facilitate the participation of Portuguese speakers in the community’s activities and discussions, fostering the exchange of knowledge about the Flourishing Business Canvas (FBC) and other tools and methods related to innovation in flourishing business models.
The SIG will encourages the sharing of experiences, practical applications, and the latest research valuing diverse perspectives and organizational contexts. Beyond overcoming language barriers, it aims to bridge between the real-world experiences of entrepreneurs, leaders of established organizations, and other professionals and academic knowledge, thereby strengthening and accelerating collective learning.
A First Step for the Portuguese-Speaking Community
On November 10, 2026, as part of Flourishing Business Community’s speaker series “Stories from the Field,” the Portuguese-language Special Interest Group (SIG) will be introduced to members of the Flourishing Business Community. (For details see this blog post in English and this blog post in Portuguese)
During this session, Cristiane Fernanda Carvalho will share her research findings on the application of the “Flourishing Business Canvas” within both conventional startups and those focused on social and environmental impact in Western Paraná, Brazil.
This meeting will also serve as an opportunity to continue the dialogue among Portuguese speakers and invite others interested in the initiative to join the SIG.
An Invitation to Build New Possibilities
We invite everyone interested in the “Flourishing Business Canvas” and flourishing business models to join the Portuguese-language SIG, where they can share their knowledge, experiences, and perspectives.
Become part of this initiative and help strengthen dialogue and collaboration in the Portuguese language within the Flourishing Business Community.
